ComposerScout opens up to every craft
Big one today. ComposerScout isn't just for audio anymore.
Artists and VFX artists can join now, and so can programmers, writers and video editors. I kept hearing from devs that they hire art way earlier than music, so it made sense to open the doors. When you sign up you pick your main craft first, and that's the one your founding badge is for. Then you can add anything else you do.
Protecting people's art was the big thing for me. Every piece gets your name marked on it, there's an optional stronger mark, VFX clips and GIFs get your name burned right into the video, and if someone re-uploads your work resized or re-saved, it gets flagged. Same Scene is new too: every Monday there's one writing prompt, and devs can read everyone's take side by side.
Studios also get matched better now. When a studio posts a role, everyone in that craft gets a heads up, and the best fits show up first. I sent a quick survey to all 27 members too, and one answer already turned into a fix the same day.
PlayScout got cleaner lists. Unboxing, ASMR and cooking channels don't sneak in anymore, and pasting a Steam link actually searches for your game now. ComposerScout has 28 members now.
Next up: Steam Next Fest starts Monday.
