BWV is now Maevyra
BWV has a new name: Maevyra. I wanted a name that's easy to say out loud on video and big enough to hold both games and tools. Maevyra is the parent brand with two divisions. Maevyra Labs makes the software: PlayScout and ComposerScout. Maevyra Studios makes the games, starting with No Soliciting. The new home is maevyra.com, and the old address forwards there. You can find me at @MaevyraHQ on X and @maevyra.com on Bluesky.
The logo is an M under a crescent moon, inside a ring. The tagline is "Higher worlds together."
ComposerScout got a lot bigger. It started as a place for composers, and now sound designers and voice actors get their own profiles, specialties, guides and founding badges. Every profile and studio page has a share card for posting on X or Discord, and the homepage shows how many founding spots are left. Until the first real portfolios come in, the homepage shows a few clearly labeled example portfolios built from the free sound library, so a new visitor can see how it works. They can't be messaged, and they go away once real portfolios fill in.
PlayScout also has a home on itch.io now, where a lot of indie devs already spend their time. The page is at maevyra.itch.io/tryplayscout, under the new Maevyra Studios profile, and it opens PlayScout right from itch.
Next: Steam Next Fest starts on the 19th, so PlayScout goes in front of as many devs as I can reach, and ComposerScout keeps looking for its first founding composers, sound designers and voice actors.
